As soon as I got my hands on the V-Log L image profile, I put it through a lot of tests. It is a true flat image profile for the Panasonic GH4 camera, and the upcoming GH5, that allows for the capture of 12 stops of dynamic range, instead of the 10 stops you get with the built-in image profiles of these cameras. The idea of extra dynamic range is exciting, but there is a trick to taking advantage of this additional functionality. Continue reading V-Log L GH4 vs External Recorder
My Daily Routine: The Life of a Filmmaker
I decided to do a post talking about how I organize my day because it’s something that is important, but gets often overlooked. As a filmmaker, you have to juggle multiple projects and still complete them on time. What is my formula? Well, I am not sure whether I manage my time well, or whether I work faster than most – I like to think it’s both 🙂 In any case, here is a glimpse into my life – hopefully you find it helpful. Lights like the Aputure C120t are very interesting because they are usually the key piece of a lighting kit – especially when combined with a softbox. Devin Graham Glidecam Review
Lately, I’ve been testing out different stabilizers for my URSA Mini camera. I have tried a full-size steadicam. This worked great, but isn’t a good option when traveling to film shoots in far-away places (because of the size and weight). Continue reading Devin Graham Glidecam Review
CAME-TV Prodigy Gimbal Review
There is a new gimbal on the market that can handle heavy cameras such as the URSA Mini – it’s the CAME-TV Prodigy 3-axis gimbal. This new gimbal has a really big cage that fits not only heavy, but also big and akwardly-shaped cameras. This gives it a big advantage over other gimbals, such as the DJI Ronin.
