I’ve used both the URSA Mini 4K and 4.6K cameras from BlackMagic Design on various projects this year. I like both of these cameras, but they definitely function better with a good rig.
I have also tested and reviewed the rig that BlackMagic itself designed for their URSA Mini cameras. As good as that rig is, it still lacks some of features that I’ve been looking for.
Today, I want to show you a new rig from LanParte that has it all. I really mean it has it all – including the battery plate, the mattebox, the follow focus and even a travel case that fits the camera and the whole rig.
I was so impressed with this rig that I decided to take it on a long and hard feature-film shoot in India.
Please watch the video below to see all the cool features this rig has
If you haven’t seen it yet, here is my review of the URSA Mini 4.6K camera
I also have an unboxing video for the URSA Mini 4.6. It shows the first rig I built for the camera, as well as the lenses and all the accessories I use with it – and there are a lot them.
Here is the video (the full post is here)

I’m thinking about buying the Ursa mini 4.6k. But I am not sure what accessories I will need. Could you make a blog post of what accessories are definitely needed for a good setup and which ones you recommend? Something like (similar to your 2k Pc setup post):
– Basic Setup
– Advanced Setup
– Pro Setup
Hi Tom.
Can you attach the blackmagic viewfinder with this lamparte rig?
thanks!
Not directly. To attach the viewfinder you would have to get an extension arm to hold the viewfinder and screw in the arm to the top cheese plate of this rig.
