I’ve been promising to share my custom settings for the Panasonic GH5. I finally have the video ready for you. Plus, I’ve created a LUT that you can download.
You can get the Panasonic V-Log L profile on BH Photo Video, Adorama, Henry’s
You can download my custom LUT for converting Panasonic V-Log L to the standard Rec. 709 video here.
The .cube file is applied to your footage in post-production. The .vlt file is meant to be loaded onto the camera, so that you can see your shots in standard video, while still filming in the flat V-Log L profile.
If you have not seen my Panasonic GH5 review, you can check it out here.
I still use my GH4 camera and, I think, it remains a great option for filmmakers, and you can get it at a very good price. Here is my review of the GH4.
Hi Tom will these simple settings you shared work with my Panasonic FZ2500?
thanks Tom!
Tom, if I’m using the Ninja Inferno, do I load the .vlt file there instead of in the camera?
Thanks Tom. I really like your tutorials and your work.
Tom – In your opinion, which would yield more filmic results, reducing sharpness in camera, or using a Black Pro-Mist filter?
Thanks
Both ways can help but they both create a different look. Pro-Mist filters don’t necessarily soften the image but they make it feel softer by adding a soft highlight over the bright parts of the image.
