DIY Home Security on a Budget

How to keep your home or office secure on a low budget?

I do it using various techniques. The first one are good doors and locks! Who would have thought? If you can’t easily get inside then most thieves won’t even try. It’s same reason why you don’t leave your car unlocked. Second also obvious tip is to not flash your possessions around the neighborhood. Just don’t do it. Again same analogy as with a car. Don’t ever leave valuable items visible in your car. If you want to step it up a notch you can hire a security company to install a complete home security system but those usually have expensive installation fees. Also there is usually a monthly monitoring fee attached plus you never really own the equipment. So if you decided to change your setup down the line or you move you will lose all that cool tech. Which is why I invest in my own security gadgets.

In my video I show you the 2 different Wifi security cameras that I use in my studio. One type of the camera is for the outside that you install in place of a floodlight.

You can find the outside floodlight Camera by ESCAM here:

The second type of camera I use is for the indoors. Also it is way more affordable then the outside cameras because it is simpler, smaller and made from plastic. You can find the YI 1080p Wifi cameras here:

Another thing I use for security is a gun. Of course that depends on where you live as in some places your government might not allow firearms use for self defense. To store the gun safely I use a small and affordable safe from Yuema. This safe is also a great way to keep my cards and hardrives with all my hard work in a safe place. Same if you want to store money, documents, passports and anything else of value.

You can find the same safe I got here:
