Fixt it in Post! Everyday effects that help you shoot quickly. Kite VFX Tutorial

Fixt it in Post! Everyday effects that help you shoot quickly

In today’s video I show you how I made a kite fly, even though there was not much wind, and the kite had holes.

So, for a music video “Fly” that I shot in Ecuador earlier this year, the director (Danny Ruan) had a really cool idea. Unfortunately, once it came to executing it on location, it quickly turned out that we could not do it. So, VFX to the rescue!

I did the whole flying kite effect in the Adobe After Effects. Here’s the tutorial

If you’d like to recreate the shot yourself, you can download the footage here (there are two files).

Thank you to Renkai (the artist) and the Garage Filmmakers team for making this footage available to you (but please don’t use it for any purpose other than practicing your After Effects skills).

You can follow these talented Ecuadorian filmmakers on their Facebook page and Instagram.
