Pad Prompter – Portable Budget Teleprompter

I got a chance to test out a cool new and inexpensive teleprompter from Onetakeonly.com

The company contacted me and asked if I would be interested in reviewing their product. If you watch my videos then you know that I never use a teleprompter, or even a script. I like to just go off the top of my head and keep it casual. Still I thought testing this new teleprompter might be something that you guys are interested in. So I gave it a try, check out the video below!

I think this is a great product if you are someone who does a lot of videos off a script or maybe if you are doing a corporate video and you want the people in the video (who often are not trained on camera pros) to feel more relaxed and not have to worry about remembering the script. Overall it’s great quality. It’s built sturdy. It packs small and light. Can be mounted on light stands, tripods and 15mm rails. The video did darken a bit once I put the prompter on, which is to be expected since it’s a one sided mirror with darkened glass, but it was less than 1 f-stop of light difference. Other than that it works great. Don’t worry though, I’m not about to start doing my videos with me reading off a prompter 🙂

You can get the prompter HERE and if you mention my name (Tom Antos) when ordering then you will receive free shipping to USA and Canada. The price starts at $279

Also the app I used on my tablet is free. It’s called Simple Teleprompter and you can get it on the Google Play Store.
