CAMTREE Camera Shoulder Mount Kit

I got a new camera rig that was sent to me by www.thecinecity.com
I thought I would open up the package and put together this whole rig with you guys.

We can test it out and see if it’s something you might want to consider buying.

This kit is right now on sale for $527 and you can buy it HERE

You can buy it for $497 on Amazon.com

Overall I think it’s a well built rig with a lot of nice extras that other rigs don’t have. It’s sturdy, will work with most cameras and comes with everything you need to start filming. I am not a fan of the mattebox however. It’s an okay mattebox if it’s your first one, but for any serious work you will probably want to upgrade to a better matte box that swings away and allows more control of the position.

  1. Hello Tom, Nice to hear from u about these DSLR/DSLM Rigs.
I have my own GH4 and I do Lots of freelance work especially Short Films and Music Videos. Now I’m eying for some Full length independent projects and for that i do require some sturdy camera support. I saw that your response about this rig is a bit divided. Yeah it seems like good for start but not the best.
I’ve searched so many options and now I’m little bit confused.
At least this one caught my eye : http://ikancorp.com/productdetail.php?id=700
    Any thoughts ???
Is there any better (Cheaper i mean 😉 option available to this one because this looks Sturdy and Robust Enough but too Pricey !!!

    1. That tilta rig is really good from what I hear. It’s more expensive thought… but you can buy the same rig from a company I dealt with personaly many times and they offer it for over $300 cheaper here: http://www.came-tv.com/tilta-iii-3-camera-dslr-rig-kit-follow-focus-shoulder-support-p-102.html

Just tell them you were send to their website from Tom Antos and that you’d like that rig if they can offer some kind of a deal. Maybe a further price reduction or maybe they can throw in something extra for free. They’re pretty cool and I know some people who mentioned my name had gotten some deals.

      1. Thank you very much for your reference and Quick Response… 😀

as far as i remember, once u reviewed ePhoto DSLR shoulder mount (http://www.amazon.com/Shoulder-Camcorder-DSR-PD198p-ePhotoInc-RL01/dp/B005NJCF7E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405207942&sr=8-1&keywords=ephoto+rig) that i’m using right now…
I searched their site for some advanced rigs (Cheaper options to Tilta) and they’ve got some products too…

        is it good enough ???

P.S. Eager to see your GH4 (with your CNED Profile settings) color grading tutorial 🙂

        1. That ePhoto rig looks good… has a better looking mattebox than the CAMTREE rig… but then again I never tried that sPhoto rig so don’t take my word for it. Look around for other reviews of it from people who actually used it. Then you might get a better idea. I don’t wanna recommend anything unless I used it and thought it was great or decent.

          1. That’s one of a genuine reply….Kudos !!!
I’ve gotta research more on the reviews of ePhone one as it looks good enough fits more into my budget…!!!
Thank You Again Tom, Hoping to meet you some day in person… 😉
