My Daily Routine: The Life of a Filmmaker

I decided to do a post talking about how I organize my day because it’s something that is important, but gets often overlooked. As a filmmaker, you have to juggle multiple projects and still complete them on time. What is my formula? Well, I am not sure whether I manage my time well, or whether I work faster than most – I like to think it’s both 🙂 In any case, here is a glimpse into my life – hopefully you find it helpful.

A big thing I learned over the years is to actually plan out and put time aside not just for work, but also for myself and my family. Otherwise, I end up neglecting my family or my personal needs (my body and my mind).

At the same time, I make sure that each day I dedicate to my work a certain amount of hours , so I do progress with my projects.

Without some sort of a plan, it’s easy to lose track of the time and let the whole day pass without being productive. Of course, one nice thing about working for myself is that I don’t have to follow an exact schedule – which is why my time and hours do vary slightly from day to day. One thing that doesn’t change, though, is the overall balance between work, family and personal time.

Hopefully this video will help you in setting up your daily routine, so that you can be productive and happy in your life (and one doesn’t happen without the other).

  1. Good video , thank you for this. I especially agree with your emphasis on physical activity. As I get older, exercise becomes mandatory in order to stay healthy and active
