I had the chance to use the Sony FS5 camera on a few projects I did in Ecuador in January of this year. Together with a fellow filmmaker and friend, Danny Ruan, we used this great little camera on the short film “Lights”, as well as on two music videos. Sony FS7 Review After Real World Use
Last December B&H Photo Video let me borrow a couple of their cameras to test them out. I had a chance to use the Sony FS7 on a film I shot in Toronto with Clint D’Souza (who wrote and directed it). The right computer for 4K editing and post-production
Although you might not be rendering your final videos in 4K yet, the chances are that you are already mostly working with 4K footage. This has become the norm for video producers. Watch my review to find out how good the DJI Phantom has gotten (short answer: really good). Continue reading DJI Phantom 3 – Cinematic Aerial Shots
Atomos Shogun Review, including guide to Vectorscope, Waveform & False Color
I’ve finally had the time to test out the Atomos Shogun 4K. For those of you who don’t know, the Shogun is a 4K video recorder and monitor, all in one. When combined with a camera like the Panasonic GH4 or Sony A7s, it lets you record 4K in RAW or the high-quality 10-bit Apple ProRes 422 (up to 30fps). You can also shoot slow motion (120/60/50 fps) in full 1080P HD. As a monitor, it has a beautiful 7.1” 320ppi 1920×1080 touch screen. And those are just the highlights.
